Former farmhouse, now divided into 2 cottages. Early C16 core, with later
extensions. 2 storeys; 3-cell plan. Timber-framed and roughcast:; thatched
roof. An internal chimney-stack with a plain red brick shaft, and a later end
stack. Various 3-light and 2-light casement windows, some old, with transomes
and pintle hinges, some late C20 replacements. One 4-panel entrance door with
sunk panels below an open gabled latticed porch; one C20 plank door in a late-
C20 enclosed and gabled red brick porch. A limited amount of timbering
exposed inside: one bay of very heavy joists, set flat and unchamfered, at the
left end; in the central room, a heavy main cross-beam, with wide chamfers,and
cut-off stops, supported by small solid braces. Lighter timbering in the
right-hand cottage,. apparently an addition. The frame said to be covered on
the upper floor, and the roof not accessible.
