II
Barn, later used for storage. Mid and late C18. Timber-framed, clad in weatherboarding on a plinth of Bargate stone with some brick buttresses and with half-hipped tiled roof. Five bays, northernmost three bays probably pre-dating southern two.
EXTERIOR: double cart doors survive to east elevation. The west elevation has a projecting gabled cart entrance which is probably of the later building phase as rafters survive behind it. The cart doors have been blocked. East elevation has three later windows inserted. Attached to the south elevation is a lean-to outbuilding, probably of late C18 date of Bargate stone and brick. A further extension at the north west with corrugated roof appears to be C20.
INTERIOR: wall frame has midrail and diagonal tension braces. Roof structure of northern three bays has queenposts, collar beams and staggered purlins. Southern two bays have angled queenstruts and the purlins are not staggered. There are further diagonal tension braces to the roof and some upright posts have C19 bolted knees.
