TM 47 SM THORINGTON BRAMFIELD ROAD

2 dwellings. Early C19. Symmetrical L shape plan with the external angle sliced
off and gabled, forming the entrance. Small flint pebbles, white brick
dressings, slated roof. Picturesque estate style. 2 storeys. 2 window range
to each of the 3 main faces, 3-light casements, those to the ground floor with
4-centre arches and Y tracery; blocked windows to end bay of right hand
cottage; 2 entrances with 4-centre arches, each doorway recessed within a
triangular shaped lobby, 2 boarded doors; first floor windows above entrances
have brick hood moulds. Bargeboarded entrance gable with spike finial; 2
stacks, one to each wing, each with 2 coupled octagonal flues with oversailing
courses to caps. Left hand cottage modernised with mostly renewed windows and
mid C20 extension.
