House. C18, with early C19 front. Two storeys and attics; L-shaped form. White
brick to front and south side; red brick on north side of rear range; plaintiled
roofs; paired bracketed cornice. The main range has a hipped roof, with a flat-
roofed lead-covered dormer in the slope of each hip. Two internal chimney-stacks
with plain red brick shafts: one of them, possibly from an older form of the
house, set between the front and rear ranges. Three windows: small-paned sashes
in deep reveals. Central entrance: half-glazed door, formerly with 2 leaves;
Roman Doric portico with fluted columns and pilasters; entablature with triglyphs.
The south side has small-paned sashes in deep reveals, with segmental arches to
the upper storey; the north side has moulded cast iron heads to the windows.
Inside, 6-panelled doors with sunk panels, shutters to all ground floor windows,
and a good geometric stair with plain balusters, wreathed handrail, open string
and bracketed ends to the treads. A ha-ha surrounds the garden.
