House, formerly rectory. C17 with C18, C19 and C20 additions and
alterations. Timber-framed with colourwashed stucco render and a plaintile
roof. Two storeys. Entrance front: projecting wings to either side and a
recessed central range. The whole of the front is covered with stucco
grooved in imitation of ashlar which was renewed in 1986. To the centre is
a Greek-revival door surround having baseless Doric columns at either side
supporting a correctly moulded entablature with triglyphs and mutule
blocks. Central door with glazed upper panel and 2 recessed lower panels.
To either side of this are sash windows of 4x4 panes and to the first floor
are 3 similar sashes of 3x3 panes. The right hand C17 gabled wing has
tripartite ground and first floor windows with Tudor hood moulds and
decorative bargeboards with mace finial. The left hand wing has a ground
and a first floor sash similar to those on the central range. To the ridge
at right is a white brick early C19 chimney stack of 4 flues and to the
left is a single-flue chimney stack. Recessed at left is a brick addition
which has one ground floor sash with plate glass and a first floor sash of
4x4 panes. Rear: single-storey outshut to the central range with a pair of
French windows at left and a sash window of 3x4 panes at right. To the
left are 2 flush gabled wings, that at left having sash windows of 4x3
panes at ground floor level with a single light window to right of it and a
first floor sash of 3x3 panes and a similar attic window. The smaller
staircase wing at right of this has a window of 3x4 panes at mezzanine
level. The right hand wing has smoothly rendered walling with a 2-light
ground floor casement and a sash window of 4x3 panes to the first floor.

Interior: Chamfered ceiling beams, jowled wall posts, close studding with
a blocked window and wind bracing to the C17 wing. Slender close-studding
with tension bracing of C18 date and some pine beams to the rest of the
house.
