Malt House
GV II
House, extended and divided. 1867 in Lovelace style, extended in C20. Flint rubble
with brick dressings; slate roofs with ridge cresting to rear range. Large house of
complicated plan, roughly L shaped; gabled wing projecting to right. Two storeys with
single storey extensions to left end. Decorative brick band over ground floor and to
eaves. Ridge stacks to ends of wings and to centre of right hand return front. C20
fenestration in old window surrounds.
Entrance front: projecting gable end wing to right with two casement windows on each
floor. One casement window on each floor of left hand front of wing. Angled bay
across re-entrant angle to centre with date plaque on first floor. One window on
each floor to left. Door to ground floor of angled bay in cambered head, roll moulded,
brick surround in flanking windows.
Right hand return front: 3 first floor, cambered head windows on first floor, 4
windows on ground floor, all in chamfered brick surrounds.
