6/39 Rowbarns Grange

GV II

House, now divided. C16 core, remodelled in C18, further remodelled in 1875 by
Lovelace Estate and extended in 1920's. Flint rubble with brick quoins and dressings,
cut flint-chip pebbledash to extensions. Large, hipped plain tiled roof. Two storeys
with attics under 3 narrow gabled casement dormers. End ridge stack to left, ridge
stack to left of centre and end ridge stack to right. Brick piers to end bay on left.
One casement window on each floor to left, cambered head to that on ground floor. Two
storey square bay to left with continuous casement fenestration across each floor.
Similar flat roofed, square bay to right with continuous first floor fenestration and
one 4-light window to ground floor. Two first floor casement windows to centre left,
one angle bay oriel window breaking through the eaves to the right of centre. One
cambered head "cross" casement window to ground floor left of centre. Gabled flint
and brick porch to right of centre with one 3-step, roll moulded, arched, surround to
diagonally boarded doors. Single storey wing to right end.
Rear: Brick piers articulating facade, 3 gabled dormers over.
Interior: Some spine beams visible in first floor rooms.
