Partly C16 timber-framed building with C20 additions in south and in east.
Original north-south wing in south-west part formerly 2 cottages: now
occupied by 1 owner. In this part, timber-framing exposed within:
South-western wall of vestibule possibly comprising originally an external
wall to the cottage: timber-framed structure revealed again inside rooms
upstairs; massive beams downstairs. Western front of oldest part: modern
timber framing with plaster infilling above; modern brick facing below.
Modern casement windows. Tiled roof. On eastern side of wing where main
entrance now is, east-west cross wing abutting on to it in centre;, modern
porch forming an extrusion between the 2 wings. Modern extension of post
and pan timbering further east, built at direction of Leslie Howard who
lived in this house.
