House. C16 or earlier; restored early C20. Timber framed house with plaster infilling;
ground floor partly faced with painted brick. Plain tile hipped roof with gablets;
brick centre stack; tall brick stack to North side elevation and shorter stack to
South elevation. North side elevation jettied. Front elevation with arched braces;
two three- and four-light casement windows; centre modern gabled porch. A plan of
Groombridge forming part of the Buckhurst Terrier of 1598 shows the present site of
the house as occupied.
