9/98 Stone balustrade
approximately 70m west
of Maer Hall

GV II

Stone balustrade. Probably mid-to-late C19. Sandstone ashlar. Low,
round-arched openwork balustrade, approximately 200m in length, with
moulded stone coping and ball finials; interrupted by 5 short flights
of steps leading to lower garden. Possibly by Mawson, who laid out the
gardens of Maer Hall (q.v.) for.F.J. Harrison in late C19.
