These terminate the vista at the west end of the carriage drive, where this
branches north and south. Dated 1922. This is a magnificent eye-catcher. Two
carriage gateways splayed to north and south. Octagonal stone piers with moulded
cornices, surmounted by obelisks. These flank wrought-iron double gates with
elaborate overthrow with coronets. The gateways are joined by a curved screen
consisting of a low stone wall surmounted by an iron railing in 5 sections, each
flanked by stone columns.
