House. Mid C18 remodelled C19 with early C20 extension to north not of special
interest. East elevation of brown brick with red brick dressings on sandstone
base, north elevation, tile hung with alternate pointed and curved courses; tiled
roof with brick chimney stacks. 2 storeys and attics, 5 windows. Wooden modillion
eaves cornice and red brick quoins, window dressings and band between floors.
Hipped roof with 2 flat topped dormers with sashes and central brick chimney stack.
Central canted 2 storey feature with pediment and 3 lights. On the ground floor
this forms a fine doorcase with open pediment with keystone, ogee moulding, fluted
pilasters, elongated rectangular pediment with decorative glazing and 6 fielded
panelled door. Windows are 12 pane sashes with moulded architraves, cambered heads
and thick glazing bars. South elevation has 5 windows, including central pedi-
mented 3 light cusped oriel on wooden brackets. Interior has kitchen with
chamfered spine beam and joists with run out stops. Wooden C18 spit rack above
fireplace moulded with 3 positions, a rare survival. Straight flight staircase
with slender turned balusters. Drawing Room has mid C19 style wooden fireplace
and dado panelling with deep fielded panels, probably original. Some 2 panelled
early C18 doors.
