II
Public house. Mid C19 century, possibly first documented in 1852. Rendered with painted stone dressings and hipped artificial slate roof. A symmetrical composition of three storeys and three bays with chamfered quoins. Windows have stone surrounds. On the ground floor they are C20 casements imitating glazing bar sashes. On the first floor they have large panes of glass with casements over, and on the second floor they are sashes with no glazing bars. On the ground and first floors the window surrounds have dentilled cornices, as does the central pilaster doorcase. No chimneys. The right-hand return wall, facing Queen Street, is treated similarly, but without cornices over the windows.
