II
Farmhouse. Late C17, C19 addition. English garden wall bond
brick, tiled roof, gable end brick stacks. T-plan. 2-storey, 5-
window symmetrical front to C17 range, l-bay C19 extension to
right. Central C20 door in beaded case with gabled porch, either
side are two 2-light leaded casements with segmental heads. First
floor has five 2-light leaded casements and 3-brick plat band. Two
hipped dormers with leaded casements, deep eaves and coped brick
verges to roof, To right is C19 extension with 3-light cast-iron
casement to ground floor and 2-light wooden casement to first
floor, to right is C20 single storey extension with attic. Left
return has 1-light and 2-light leaded casements. Rear has 2-storey
C17 wing with C20 casements and hipped roof, C19 build has cast-
iron casement to ground floor and wooden casement to first floor,
hipped dormers.
Interior has chamfered beams with ogee stops and exposed joists,
open fireplace and chamfered doorcases with ogee stops. 5-bay butt
purlin roof to main range, 2-bay roof to wing. This farm was the
property of Corpus Christi College, Oxford and leased by them to
yeoman farmers in C17. (Unpublished records of RCHM (England),
