Formerly Crown Hotel.
Early C19. Modern alterations, the western part of the hotel has been demolished
except for one bay now included in main block. 2 storeys colour- washed brick.
Low pitch gable end slate roof with flat eaves. 3 wide pane sashes and a 2
pane sash all recessed flat brick arches block sills. 3 similar windows
on ground floor. Recessed door of 6 panels with rectangular fanlight (arched
and radial glazing). Architrave case framed by panelled pilasters, carved
scroll brackets and flat moulded cornice hood. All the windows have Venetian
shutters.
Nos 76 & Nos 81 to 86 (even) form a group. No 76 also forms a group with
No 50 High street.
