Late C18 recasing of house of Cl7 origin. 2 storeys and attic red brick.
Diamond cut brick cornice projects. Parapet with stone coping. Gable end
old tile roof. 2 dormers. 3 windows and blind window on 1st floor sashes
later glazing, broad frames, flat brick arches. Ground floor has late C19
shop front with 2 windows and glazed and panelled door to left (No 35). Original
house door of 6 fielded panels in plain surround survives to right of shop
front. One sash window to right (No 37) and door of 6 flush panels with reeded
architrave surround and shallow cornice.
The interior of No 37 has stop chamfered beam. Some reset Cl7 panelling.
Angle set fireplaces.
The Royal George Public House and Nos 23 to 45 (odd) form a group.
