Stables to Lydiard House
and walls and gate piers
enclosing yard.

Stables, now stables and dwelling. c.1840. Squared limestone
rubble with slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays centre block with
forward 1 bay wings extended by walls to form courtyard against
road. Dwelling in right wing with small extension, containing
door. Carriage doors in right bay of main block now concealing
domestic window. 3-centred arch with raised keystone. Boarded
door in left bay. Iron casement windows with centre pivot vent.
6-pane sashes to living quarters. Upper floor windows raised above
eaves and roof hipped. Centre pitching door with iron ladder to
ground. Louvred lead covered turret with wind vane. Ashlar stack
to dwelling. Gate pier to road opening with swept coping to wall.
Internally, stables have cast iron stalls.
