GREAT SOMERFORD STARTLEY

House, C17 recased C18, red brick with some chequer, Bridgwater
tile roof, half-hipped to west, ridge stack and outside east end
stack. Two storeys. North front has casement pairs above and
cyma-moulded recessed stone mullion 2-light windows below, one-
window range to left of door in gabled porch, two-window range to
right. West end has similar first floor mullion window and attic
stone oval light. East end wall shows line of an earlier roof.
South side has one C20 upper window, glazed lean-to below. One
window within has original hoodmould. Said to have been an inn,
formerly two cottages.
