5/302 Rookery House
II
House, dated 1792, extended c1840, squared rubble stone with slate
roofs. Two storeys. Original range is double fronted with coped
gables and end stacks. Sixteen-pane sashes with timber lintels and
centre doorway, now window, with timber doorcase of panelled piers,
fluted entablature sections above and open pediment. Date plaque
R A 1792 above. Flush quoins. Parallel rear range, with, attached
to west end, c1840 block with low-pitched hipped eaves roof and 2
octagonal stacks on west side. South front has recessed centre
bay, dripcourse stepped as hoodmould over ground floor French
window, and first floor window with hoodmould and sill course.
