Pair of Bowood estate houses, dated 1875, squared rubble stone with
brick dressings, Bridgwater tile eaves roof and stacks with brick
diagonal shafts. 1 1/2 storeys. Ironstone rubble plinth, brick
quoins and decorative details, window surrounds all with nogged
brick lintel under brick voussoirs. North gable end, to road, has
jettied upper floor on stepped-out brick courses. Four-light
ground floor casement, triple casement above and dateplaque in
apex. West front is asymmetrical each side of slightly projected
gable. Gable has narrower ground floor broadened with brick
corbelling each side. Triple casement below, casement pair above.
Range to right has door in acutely pointed brick and timber porch.
Brick base, boarded upper part with shouldered opening and
shouldered north side light. Scissor truss gable, boarded behind.
Decorative banded tile roof. Range to left has smaller but similar
gabled hood on large timber brackets over door, small window above,
under eaves, and, to left, triple casement below and casement pair
in eaves breaking dormer gable above. South west rear wing with
west stack.
