8/15 The Hermitage

GV II

Detached house. Late C17 with C19 and C20 alterations and
additions. Squared and coursed rubble with stone dressings and
gabled double Roman tile roof with left end stone stack with 2
brick caps and right end brick stack. L-shaped plan with rear
service wing. Two-storey, 2-window north-west front. Windows are
4-light ovolo-moulded mullions with hoodmoulds and C19 casements to
left, 3-light mullions to right. Central doorway with open Doric
porch and panelled door with 2 rectangular lights, original blocked
doorway to left. Lean-to addition to right with double Roman tile
roof; service wing with similar roof to rear.
