Coach house at Easton House
(formerly listed as stable to Easton House)

Coach house and stable, possibly late medieval origins, refronted
in late C17 and with carriage arch added c1730. Ashlar front and
rubble stone with stone-tiled roof and coped gables. Large off-
centre carriage arch breaking eaves with pedimental gable, base
broken for roundel. Rusticated surround with keystone to arch,
double doors and radiating boarding to arch head, near identical to
archway on stable block at The Grove, Pickwick Road (q.v.). Range
each side has moulded plinth, coved eaves cornice, door to left and
door flanked each side by 2-light mullion window to right, all
cyma-moulded. Rear wall has a late medieval small 4-light timber
mullion window with broach stops. South end wall has arched upper
loading door.
