3/16 Boyds Farmhouse
II

Farmhouse, C17 and C18, rubble stone with concrete tile roof, coped
south gable and ridge stack to north and west ranges. Two storeys
and attic, 'L'-plan with C18 addition in angle. North range has
east end recessed chamfered mullion windows, 2-light to attic, 3-
light with hoodmould to ground and first floors. North side wall
has scattered fenestration, blocked door each side and some mullion
windows. West end has blank attic light, unmoulded 3-light windows
to first floor right and ground floor centre. Rear wing has 2-
window range to west of recessed chamfered mullion windows with
hoodmoulds, 3-light to centre, 2-light to right. Right and south
end gable are a C19 addition. To left, 6-panel door in moulded
flush surround with hood on brackets. C19 south end wall has blank
attic light, 16-pane sash and French windows in early C19 iron
porch. On east side division between original wing and addition is
clearly marked with quoins. Original range, partly masked by C18
addition to rear of north range, has coped dormer gable, blocked
attic window with hoodmould and one-window range of 2-light
recessed chamfered mullion windows with hoodmoulds. C18 addition
in angle has one-window range of 3-light bead-moulded windows to
left and Bridgwater tile lean-to to right on south front. Similar
3-light windows to both floors of east end wall.
