II

Farmhouse. Circa early C18 to early C19. Rubblestone stuccoed to
front, stone slate roof, hipped to right. 2-span roof, formerly L-
plan of early C18; early C19 wing completes a rectangle. 2
storeys with attic, 5 windows. Central door in C19 gabled porch,
one 16-pane sash either side, with evidence of earlier blocked
window to right. Continuous string course is raised above windows
and is below a plat band to first floor. Five 2-light flattened-
ovolo mullioned windows to first floor. Four hipped dormers with
casements and small ball finials, to roof. To right is dairy
extension, now kitchen of one storey with coped stone slate roof
and one 12-pane sash. Left return has one margin-light window and
one casement to ground floor with 2 casements to first. Rear of
C19 range has one 2-light chamfered mullioned window to ground and
first floor, stone slate roof has coped verge with kneelers. To
left is single storey lean-to extension, formerly the cheese room,
with pantiled roof. First floor has two 2-light chamfered
mullioned windows. One hipped dormer to hipped table.
Interior: some alterations, but original exterior wall between
front and C19 addition to rear retains one 2-light chamfered
mullioned window.
