Two shops in block. Early C18. Roughcast rubblestone, stone slate
hipped roof. 2 storeys and attic, 4 windows. C20 shop fronts to
ground floor. First floor has four stone cross windows, and
moulded eaves cornice with blocking course. Two hipped dormers
above No 55. Left return has three cross windows to first floor
and continuation of eaves cornice and blocking course from front,
with decorated cast-iron rainwater head to right. To rear is
ashlar C19 wing with sashes. Included despite C20 shop fronts and
for group value with No 1 Bank Street (q.v.) which is part of same
C18 block.
