Factory Place was built in the early C19 to house workmen and women at the adjoining woollen manufactory, which opened in 1806. The houses are shown on the 1842 Tithe map.
A double-fronted 1½-storey house of pebble-dash walls over stone, slate roof and shared roughcast stack to the R. Windows, including raked half dormers, are replacement 4-pane horned sashes in smooth-rendered surrounds. The central entrance has a replacement half-glazed door.
A rear outshut, built against a steep bank, has a boarded door in its side wall.
