Early C19, perhaps c1830. It is shown on the John Wood map of 1835 but must have been built very soon before this.
Roughcast render, probably over brick and lined out as ashlar, Welsh slate roof. Double depth central entrance plan. Three storeys, two windows. Six-panel door with panelled architrave and flat hood on brackets. Widows are replacement sashes, 8 over 8 panes in smooth rendered architraves. The top floor ones are smaller, but also 8 over 8 panes, later central window with 3 over 3. Plain roof with stack on either gable. Rear elevation not seen.
Interior not seen at resurvey.
Included for its special architectural interest as an early C19 house of definite character in the Monmouth town centre.
