Part of a group of farm buildings associated with Cae Saer, but located slightly away from the house. The group consists of 2 farm buildings, and unusually, a chapel; Pennal Independent Chapel was built in 1822.
This tall lofted range facing N into the farmyard has detail suggesting a late C19 date. It may have replaced an earlier farm building on the site.
Constructed of shaley rubble stone with rock-faced quoins and traces of limewash, under a renewed corrugated steel roof. Symmetrical 3-bay range with wide central entrance, the lintel replaced in concrete. Flanking single doorways under stone lintels, that to R with boarded door, the L doorway altered and infilled with steel sheeting. Loft has a central boarded hatch flanked by ventilation slits. E gable end has single doorway offset to L and ventilation slits to gable; rear not seen.
Roof has sawn timber roof trusses (seen from exterior only).
Listed as a traditional C19 farm building forming part of an unusual group with a rural chapel; also group value with Cae Saer.
