A milestone probably erected in 1759 (the date is on another milestone in the series). A second milestone was added immediately beside it in the C19 which is shown on the 1889 Ordnance Survey.
A roughly hewn stone block with the inscription, 'To the WELLS 3 Ms', 'BUILTH IV'. To its R is a freestone marker with rounded top, painted white, inscribed in black letters 'Builth 4 miles' and 'Newtown 30'.
Listed for its special historic interest as part of a series of well-preserved C18 and C19 milestones on the A483 between Llandrindod Wells and Builth Wells.
