History

Telephone call box of K6 type designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, introduced by GPO in 1936. This one with George VI crowns.

Exterior

Telephone call-box, red-painted cast-iron kiosk with shallow domed roof with 4 lunettes containing embossed George VI crowns over red-lettered transparent panels marked ''TELEPHONE''. Two glazed sides and matching timber door with cast-iron frame to glazing, the glazing in horizontal panes with marginal bars. Raised moulded surrounds, raised plinth. Blank rear, founder''s plate obscured.
