Single-storey C19 lofted cottage, part of the Southfield estate of the Philipps family. Carefully restored in late C20 by Southfield estate.
Cottage, white-painted rubble stone with slate close-eaved roof and renewed stone end stacks, larger chimney to left. Single-storey, double-fronted with 12-pane horned sash each side of door. Recessed cambered brick heads and slate sills. Left end has tiny loft window. C20 added rendered addition to right end, lined as rubble stone, with small 9-pane sash to front and end walls. Added rear wing.
Not inspected.
Included for its special interest as a traditional single-storey cottage of regional type, now rare.
