History

Large barn range. Perhaps contemporary with the house, and therefore late C16 or early C17. Extended by a single bay to the S probably in the early C19.

Exterior

A very long range; dry stone rubble construction with graded slate roof, and coped lower gable. Doorways towards centre and R of original range, both with rough projecting lintels. Further doorway in additional bay to L, which also has loft entry in gable end. Range of cart-sheds, also probably C19, attached at R-hand gable end.

Reasons for Listing

Listed as an early barn which with its dry stone walls, is a fine example of traditional regional construction technique, and which forms part of a group at Llanfair Isaf.
