History

Probably C18 field barn, probably contemporary with other farmbuildings at Drws yr Ymlid and annotated on the tithe map of the parish, 1849.

Exterior

Lofted field barn built of coursed boulder construction with large stones as quoins and lintels. Roof of profiled iron with rough stone copings. There is a single doorway centrally placed in the SW gable and a pitching hole set in the NE gable. A lean-to addition of profiled iron and wood has been built along the NW lateral wall.

Interior

The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey.

Reasons for Listing

Listed as a C18 fieldbarn of strong vernacular character which is a good example of a regionally significant building type. It is also part of a group with the farmhouse and adjacent listed buildings in this specially interesting farm group which is a good example of an C18/C19 Snowdonian farmstead.
