One of a set of early C19 farm buildings associated with Maesllymystyn Hall, later worked from
Maesllymystyn farmhouse. In the late C19 or early C20 it was used as a shelter for mechanical threshing.
A four-bay open-sided and open-ended hay barn built on stone piers. Local axe-dressed gritstone masonry
in large irregular courses. Corrugated sheeted roof. The two piers at each end are joined with a
semi-circular stone arch.
The hay barn of a large estate farm, unaltered apart from the roof covering; listed also for group value
with Maesllymystyn farmhouse and other farmbuildings and constituting an exceptionally good estate
farm layout.
