Built in the third quarter of the C19 and shown on the 1871 Ordnance Survey. The quarry was immediately NE of the kiln, in what is now Rhyd-y-Maengwyn Wood. The kiln was disused by 1899.
A tapering snecked-stone kiln built into a steep bank. The top is partly missing. The segmental-headed draw arch has bands of bullnose blue brick and yellow brick, with blue-brick hood, inside which is a rubble-stone vault and lower arched draw hole.
Listed as a prominently sited and well-preserved quarry lime kiln, representing a once important local industry.
