Early C19 stable range, probably contemporary with the farmhouse at Plas Bach.
Stable range comprising 3 parallel buildings; 2 set along a slope, the 3rd offset to the E and downslope, to form an L-shaped plan with a linking single pitch roofed addition built in the angle. Built of rubble masonry, roofs of small slates with tiled ridge and copings.
The first (southernmost) of the buildings has a doorway in each gable, that to E at a lower level, with voussoir head and doveholes in the gable apex above; the opposing doorway is a later cut. The parallel building to N is in alignment and linked to the first by means of a shallow pitched lean-to addition which has a doorway offset to the L. The parallel building has a wide doorway in the W gable, either a later cut or a widened original doorway, the E gable is obscured and there is access to the loft via a doorway in the N wall. The stable building offset to the E has a single doorway with cambered voussoir head to the L. The linking lean-to addition which links the three buildings has a doorway to the L side of the S gable and a roof of profiled metal sheeting.
Interior not inspected at the time of the survey.
Included as a stable range which forms a coherent group within the small farmstead at Plas Bach, along with the house and the adjacent agricultural range. The building group has few alterations and retains much of its original vernacular character.
