A building is marked on the site on the 1838 Tithe map, though this one looks later.
Large hay barn of 10 bays. Rubble stone with corrugated iron roof. Two sets of opposed doorways in 3rd and 8th bays; walls have tall rectangular openings between square piers. Buttresses on W side. Left end gable has weatherboarding.
Roof of ten bays with collar-and-tie-beam trusses.
Included as a very large open hay-barn, of strong regional character and having group value with adjacent listed buildings at Penpont.
