History

Probably built in the later C17 or earlier C18; altered.

Exterior

A 5-bay timber-framed and weather-boarded barn with dwarf side walls of random rubble, red brick gables, blue slate roof with corrugated sheet to the lower slope. The east elevation has a full-height wagon doorway in the centre with vertically-boarded double doors, and horizontal weather-boarding to the other bays. (W elevation not inspected.)

Interior

Four cross-frames with angle-struts to the tie-beams, and collar trusses carrying two tiers of slightly-trenched purlins.

Reasons for Listing

Included as a well-preserved timber-framed barn, and for group value with Parlour Farmhouse (q.v.).
