Pentre farmhouse is dated 1574 but was probably altered in the C17. The cow house was built in the C17, to which a cart shed was added in the C19. The whole building was restored in 2000.
Rubble stone stable with bigger quoins and a renewed slate roof. Divided into 2 units with lintelled doorways, each with 2-light mullioned windows to their R. A cart shed is added against the downhill gable end, with a wide lintelled doorway (and external steps to a loft doorway awaiting reinstatement at the time of inspection). Against the uphill gable end is external stone steps to a wood-lintelled loft doorway (door missing). The rear wall has been rebuilt.
Listed, notwithstanding restoration, as a rare surviving C17 farm building retaining original mullioned windows, and for its contribution to the historic setting of the farmhouse.
