Erected after the First World War 1914-18 and amended after the Second World War 1939-1945.
War Memorial of cenotaph type. Of pale ashlar with cast copper alloy inscription panels. Standing on 3 steps, the tall pier has a tiered plinth bearing at front the names of those killed in the Second World War, the plaque donated by the Nelson Branch of the British Legion. The main shaft has the names of those killed in the Great War with carved wreath above, another wreath to rear; the side pilasters end in scrolls, below a hipped coping stone. Stands in a flagged railed enclosure
