Pont Gweirglodd Gilfach was the sole survivor, amongst bridges in the locality, of the floods of 1781. Although known locally as the `Roman Bridge' it is probably C17 in its present form. The road it formerly carried has disappeared and is now merely a sheep track.
Single-span bridge of crude vernacular construction, boulder built. Segmental arch with irregular boulder voussoirs. There is no parapet, and probabably never was.
Listed as an early vernacular regional road bridge, probably C17, retaining unaltered character.
