The lychgate is of a characteristic local type, presumed to be late C18 or early C19. This lychgate is cruder in style and may predate that to the S entrance of the church.
Rubblestone lychgate with a shallow cambered, rough stone voussoir arch to a double gated entrance; above the arch there is an advanced string as dripcourse. The central part of the entrance walling is raised above the archway to a flat coping, raking coping to each side over broad piers c1.5m in length, which terminate at a slightly higher level than the flanking walling into which the lychgate was inserted. Gates have alternate short and tall vertical rails terminating in arrowhead finials; flat lockrail and head rail raised up to centre.
Included as a good rural lychgate of characteristic local type which forms a group with the adjacent Church of St Eilian.
