History

Built probably late C18 or early C19; shown on the First Edition OS map, 1887-8.

Exterior

Agricultural range comprising corn barn, cartshed, stable and cowhouse. Uncoursed rubble walls and heavily grouted old slate roof with gable copings. Heavy timber lintels. Corn barn to L with central narrow door flanked by tall ventilation slits. Wide cartshed door to R with narrow stable door to R end. The added cowhouse to R gable has a lower ridge line. Door to L. Blocked door to R gable. Lean-to to rear with catslide roof, with door in L end.

Interior

The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey.

Reasons for Listing

Listed as a well-preserved late C18 or early C19 agricultural range, which forms part of the coherent farmstead group at Tyn-y-maen, together with the nearby farmhouse and cowhouse range.
