History

Crwys farmhouse dates from the late C18, and is shown on an estate map of 1779. The farm buildings to the west appear to be an early C20 addition. The upper part of this range is a corn loft and the lower part a cow and calf shed with former pigsties at the end nearer to the road.

Exterior

A two-storey range facing the farmyard of Crwys farm, in rubble stonework with brick dressings to the openings. Slate roof with tile ridge. A flight of stone steps centrally leads to a large loft doorway. A loft window to each side, both having been reduced in size by raising the sill level. Beneath is a doorway with a round brick head at left, two doorways with lintels and another with a round brick head, partly walled up, at right of the stairs.

Reasons for Listing

Part of the buildings of a small mixed farmstead, listed for group value with Crwys farmhouse.
