History

Erected c1790. It is known as Carreg Offrwm as it was used to receive offerings made at funerals.

Built of stone blocks laid on bed, with a cavetto moulded ledger carrying the inscription on the upper face HERE LYETH T(HE)/ BODY OF DOR / OTHEY LLOYD BVRIED H?d 20 FEBRV / ARY AT AETATIS 17"? DVED / ....

Reasons for Listing

Included as an early graveyard chest tomb, which is historic interest as having been used for the ancient custom of the payment of funeral offerings, the 'carreg offrwm'.
