Early C19 road bridge, erected in 1819; a plaque, with construction date and inscription in Welsh, appears on the inner face of the upstream parapet. The bridge marks the sight of a Civil War engagement in 1646.
Wide single-span road bridge of squared limestone rubble construction. Segmental arch with dressed voussoirs extended up to a continuous, plain string course. This is extended onto advanced and splayed-out sections at the approaches. Square, terminating piers and limestone copings to parapets. On the inner face of the up-river parapet is an inscription stone with an incised Welsh poem and the date 1819.
Listed for its special interest as a dated early C19 road bridge retaining good character.
