History

Earlier C19 double door barn, the main building of a 3-sided grassed yard set well separate from the house, which was a minor gentry house from the C17. Marked on 1839 Tithe Map.

Exterior

Barn, rubble stone with asbestos sheet roof and two cambered-headed barn entries, with stone voussoirs. End walls have two centre vent loops one over other. Rear has two similar doors.

Interior

Roof of four oak tie-beam trusses with king post and angle struts.

Reasons for Listing

Included as a good example of the double-door barn, generally associated with estate farms, and for group value in three-sided yard.
