The farm lies on the coastal belt of land which became prosperous in the C18 and early C19 where the acid soils prevalent in the whole areas could be improved and enriched by shingle and seaweed from the coast. The building appears to be of early-mid C19 date.
Built of coursed stone rubble and partially rendered, with a slate roof. Two storeys and attics, 3 bays, with a rear 2-storey service wing. The S front is symmetrical, with a gabled later C19 front porch over the front entrance. 12-paned sash windows to each floor with slender glazing bars and concealed boxes. Gable stacks with 4 flues. The kitchen and bathroom tower at the rear is under an extension of the roof. A boarded door at the side of this wing provides rear access.
Listed as a well-preserved early mid-C19 farmhouse, illustrative of the improvement and development of this coastal land in this period.
