Probably C17, the barn appears to have been originally thatched.
A barn in quasi-rubble local limestone with slate roof; the masonry at each gable forms an uncoped upstand. The front slope (towards the farmyard) has large C19 slates, the rear slope has retained its small C18 slates.
Opposed great doorways, that at front having been partly filled in brickwork and that at rear having been partly filled in concrete blockwork. Doors above and below at front and at rear. Many ventilation slits at front and rear and in S gable. At the N end the barn abuts extensive modern sheds.
Included as a fine C17 barn and for group value with Rhyd Farmhouse.
