Probably an C18 barn to which a lean-to was added behind in 1857 (date on building).
Rubble stone barn with corrugated iron roof. Facing the yard is a full-height wagon bay doorway offset to R, with later double boarded doors, R of which are 2 ventilation slits, and to L of which is a later single-storey link to the byre (qv). The R gable end has a loft opening with a timber lintel and wooden frame. Behind is a lean-to L of the wagon bay doorway, in the side wall of which, facing the yard, is a doorway under a timber lintel, above which is a stone engraved 'JP 1857'. Above a lintelled window to the R is a stone engraved '168...'. To the R of the rear cart passage doorway is an added blockwork lean-to. The L gable end, on downhill side, has 2 ventilation slits.
Six-bay roof, with tie- and collar-beam trusses.
Included for group value as an important component within this exceptional C16/C17 farm group.
